WHO WE ARE
STOMA-toba is a Manitoba-based organization dedicated to supporting individuals living with an ostomy, as well as their families, caregivers, and healthcare partners. We are grounded in lived experience, community connection, and a shared commitment to reducing stigma and improving quality of life.
OUR VISION
We envision a Manitoba where every person impacted by an ostomy lives with dignity, confidence, and self-determination—supported by a community free from stigma, strengthened by understanding, compassion, and meaningful connections.
OUR MISSION
We connect, empower, and uplift Manitobans living with or caring for those with ostomies. Through education, advocacy, and strong community partnerships, we break stigma, expand access to resources, and create a network where everyone can thrive with confidence, dignity, and shared support.
WHY WE EXIST
Living with an ostomy can be isolating, overwhelming, and misunderstood. Many individuals face challenges not only in recovery, but in navigating daily life, accessing support, and overcoming stigma.
STOMA-toba exists to ensure that no one faces that journey alone. We are building a community where connection, education, and support are accessible to all Manitobans impacted by ostomy.
AWARENESS
We work to reduce stigma through education, visibility, and honest conversation.
COMMUNITY
We believe in the power of connection, shared experience, and mutual support.
PURPOSE
We are driven by meaningful impact, ensuring our work improves lives across Manitoba.
OUR COMMITMENT
STOMA-toba is a non-partisan, inclusive organization committed to equity, diversity, and respectful representation across Manitoba. Our governance reflects lived experience, community diversity, and a strong commitment to confidentiality, accountability, and ethical leadership.
